A blog post that actually drives traffic isn't an essay: it's the best possible answer to a specific question, structured to be skimmed by a reader and understood by Google.

This method builds on keyword research.

01 — The angle

One question, one promise

Pick a query and its intent. State the article's promise in a single sentence: what the reader will be able to do by the end.

02 — The outline

Subheadings that answer

List the sub-questions readers actually ask ("people also ask" boxes, forums). Each one becomes an H2 or H3. The answer comes in the very first sentence of the section.

03 — The writing

Clear before long

  • Short sentences, one idea per paragraph.
  • Concrete examples, dated figures, no filler.
  • The main keyword in the title, the intro, one subheading — never forced.

04 — The technical wrapper

Title, meta, structured data

  • A unique, compelling title tag (≈ 60 characters).
  • A meta description that makes people want to click (≈ 155 characters).
  • Article and FAQ structured data, to aim for rich results.

05 — Internal linking

Never publish an orphan page

Link the new article to 2-3 related pages and to a pillar page. Update older articles so they point to the new one too.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should an article be?

Whatever fully answers the question — not a fixed word count. Often 900 to 1,800 words, sometimes fewer.

How many articles per month?

Consistency beats volume: one good article a week, kept up for a year, beats ten articles published then nothing.

Should you rewrite old articles?

Yes: updating pages stuck in position 8-20 often pays off more than publishing new ones.
